Weigh each renovation against its cost, its perceived value and its effect on rent and your tenants. You may want to opt for a complete renovation. This boils down to investing up to 10% of the suites' value, by updating the kitchen and bathrooms.

It takes 30 minutes or less for a glass company to repair a chip. Chip repairs are much quicker than windshields replacement. You can choose a reputable shop, drive in, and have the chip front window repair on your way to work without even scheduling an appointment. If you are saying you do not have time to have the repair done, it really is not a relevant excuse.



Once the door panel is removed, the problem may be quite obvious, as it was in my case. Your door may have a vapor barrier or plastic sheet that is glued to the door. Carefully remove this. In most cases, you can reuse the adhesive for the barrier during re-assembly. Make sure the motor is connected. Look for burned wires or obvious damage. If everything is intact, you need to test the motor. The best way to do this is to run a jumper wire from the positive terminal of your battery to the positive side of the motor to see if it jumps to life. If not, the motor needs to be replaced.

PVC and soft top convertibles must be very well inspected for holes, cracks and leaks. Close the roof and turn the windshield repair up. Look from the inside out. Light points indicate holes in the material. You could also hose the care down at the car wash. Choose the option without wax or shampoo. Suppose the roof is a sieve, then at least the interior cleaned! Avoid this!

This is another biggie. One way to overcome this stumbling block is to take a contractor with you when you inspect the house. After removing the film, use a hard object that won't scratch the glass to remove excess resin. Something like a plastic scraper or piece of wood, such as a popsicle stick should do the trick.
